MILLI VANILLI "MECHAMIX 2011 "

The legend of MILLI VANILLI in pop culture and as one of the biggest scandals to ever hit the music industry still remains as huge now as it did over 20 years ago. Ironically the whole lip syncing fiasco has since become a standard of "live" performances with some of the biggest pop stars today still miming to pre-recorded vocals on stage. However way back in 1989 and 1990 Milli Vanilli were THE BIGGEST pop duo in the world! Their first 4 singles hit No.1 in the USA with a multi million selling debut album to follow. They were on the cover of every teen music magazine, they had sold more cassingles (ask your parents what they were) than any other artist at the time, they also won a slew of American Music Awards and even a Grammy for Best New Duo/Group. However once it was revealed that Rob & Fab didn't actually sing on any of their records or during any of their concerts they became the world's biggest punchline. Despite the scandal, Milli Vanilli's music was actually quite adventurous at the time, especially their remixes and club versions, as they were one of the first hugely successful pop acts to heavily use samples from movies, television and other popular hits of the time (including Bobby Brown, Sly & Robbie and Grace Jones).
